We love our photos! So naturally we want to share them with the rest of our friends, customers, and followers- but sometimes there just are not enough Instagram filters and options! That is why we decided to fill you in on a little secret; our go-do photo editing apps. 

1. Afterlight

2. VSCO Cam

A go-to for the more professional and in-depth photo editing guy or gal. Developed by the visual supply company, VSCO Cam assists in creating absolutely breathtaking digital images. Similar to Instagram, VSCO Cam user’s photos are posted to a feed (which can then be exported to other social channels) — allowing people to network & show off their beautiful photos.

3. BeFunky Photo Editor

This is, hands down, my favorite photo editor app. Not only does it have awesome technology to edit photos, it also gives you fun decals to add. You can edit all of your gorgeous prom pictures, and then make them into awesome collages. Befunky has the most photo editing features of any photo editing app: powerful editing tools, an amazing collage maker, tons of fonts, photo frames, overlays, stickers, and more. You can even smooth out blemishes, whiten teeth, add some blush, lipstick, bronzer, and more with it’s beautifying options. Best of all, and what really makes this app stand out from the rest, is that it is absolutely free!  No annoying ads, no pesky watermarks, no forcing to share, and no registration required. You get complete control with this app.

4. Facie

FACIE is a fast and fun way to share stunning selfies and pictures with the all your friends. The developers of this app have created a unique collection of filters and tools, designed to bring selfies to perfection in seconds. Mix the face filters together and achieve the look you want. Apply different combinations of filters for each face in the picture! Here is a list of some of the filters you get with this app, according to the developers:

Here at SpellBound we look forward to prom season almost as much as you lovely ladies that get to go! Of course this is because we love to see our fashion smart girls rocking their favorite prom styles. Seeing your beautiful prom pictures and knowing that you chose us to be a part of your big day makes the endless hours of meticulous design and careful color choosing worth it! We want to make your prom shopping experience as fun and stress free as possible, so today we’re going to give you our best prom tips and the down low on the best time to shop for your prom dress!

When to Start Shopping?

We always tell girls that the best time to start shopping for a prom dress is January. I know this seems ridiculously and you might be thinking, “I don’t have my prom until May! March is plenty of time to start looking!” but when it comes to shopping for your perfect prom dress the early bird catches the bedazzled worm.

Avoid the Rush

 

Beginning your search in January may seem premature... One of our biggest tips for prom is starting early which will allow you to fully sift through the myriad of options and give you plenty of time to make up your mind. So whether you’re caught between purple or red or satin or chiffon you don’t have to rush into a decision and regret your choice later! Another perk to early prom shopping is that you get to bypass the last minute rush and stress to find a dress. Prom shopping is often highly competitive – everyone wants to have the best dress! Keep in mind that trendy and celebrity inspired styles tend to be more popular!  if you want to end up with your dream dress, you should start hunting early. 

Dress Shopping Logistics

Pre Order:  We offer pre-order your prom dress. If you find the perfect dress, you can ask SpellBound to order it for you! 
Layaway:  Similarly to pre-ordering your prom dress, we also allow you to put a dress on layaway and pay for it a little bit at a time. This is a great way to get the dress you’ve dreamed of, without stressing yourself out. It also gives you that extra time to budget for other accessories, styling, and beauty treatments you may want to get.
Special Ordering:  If you happen to see a dress either in the store or online and we do not have the color or size available in store, we WILL special order your dream dress for you. Find your size and fit by following our guide How to Measure Yourself for Your Prom Dress. If you happen to choose a very popular or trending style, you will most likely need to order your dress early to ensure you get the color or size you want in time for your event. This is why you should start early – the last thing you want would be for your dream prom dress to get back ordered for months!

Register Your Dress

We will guarantee not to sell the same dress to another girl attending the same prom, and shopping early will make sure you get your dream dress on lockdown. Be smart and register your style.  There are also a wide range of apps you can use as well so take a browse through your phone’s app store.

Plan Time for Alterations

Many tailors will need at least 2-4 weeks to complete alterations, so by purchasing your prom dress early, you will feel much more relaxed knowing you have enough time to get alterations and shop for shoes and jewelry to complete the look! Keep in mind the more complicated your dress is, the longer alterations may take – components like boning, corsets, netting, and intricate closures usually take extra time and attention.  If you are in a rush, opt for a jersey dress or something with simple lining and/or a zipper closure, as this will be a really quick, inexpensive, and easy alteration process.

If you wanna whittle your middle….

Not everyone’s an hourglass. Fortunately, the right shape can define your waist.

• A-Lines are always forgiving if your aim is to minimize your middle. Their classic silhouette and tummy-obscuring layers of tulle mean tacos are not out of the question for an after-party snack.
• Go smooth with ruching. Lumps and bumps can virtually disappear under a few strategically placed wrinkles.
• Emphasize your waist with an embellishment that cinches you in. And remember that adding a belt can work wonders for defining your curves.
• Think big! Outrageous elements like peplum, color blocking, and patterns can be bold enough to camouflage a less than taut tummy.

Wanna give your ladies a bit of emufff

Having a small chest doesn’t mean your dress can’t make a big impression.

• Look for styles that have sequins or beading at the bust. Shiny embellishments can make your chest appear larger.
• Direct gazes north of your navel with stripes or patterns that appear to point to the girls.
• Find yourself a sweetheart—neckline, that is. The heart shaped of the bust line accentuates what’s beneath.
• Take the plunge! When you want all eyes on you, nothing beats a super low neckline.

If you want to keep a large chest in check….

No need to minimize your size—but these tips can help make sure the girls stay in place for the party.

• Don’t wear spaghetti straps. Just don’t. They offer no support and are a pain in the neck (and shoulders).

• Check out some corset style dresses that have built-in structure and support. Look for a gown with a defined waist and boning in the bodice.

• Silk illusion is your friend! Plus, it’s very on-trend. The sheer fabric can provide enough coverage to make your chest feel secure (or even hide a bra!) while still appearing to be barely-there.

• Get a bra-friendly dress! There are plenty of styles that are fun and flirty but also cover enough of your back to wear a real bra. Stick-ons sound great, but gravity always wins.
